A weekend in Anderson, SC, from people who live here
Anderson isn't a tourist town, which is most of why people like staying here. Here's a weekend that works.
Friday evening
Check in after 4, then downtown Main Street for dinner. There are a few places that are consistently good; ask us and we'll name the current ones, because this changes. Back at the house, the hot tub.
Saturday
Farmers market on Main Street in the morning, in season. Then the lake: at the Lake House that means kayaks off the dock; from the other two homes, Sadlers Creek State Park on Hartwell is 20 minutes away and has a swimming area. Late afternoon, drive to Pendleton for the square, or into Greenville for Falls Park if you want a city evening.
Sunday
Breakfast at the house, a slow morning, checkout at 11. If you have the afternoon, Highway 11 north toward Table Rock is the prettiest drive in the state.
If it rains
The Anderson County Museum downtown, the Greenville County Museum of Art, or a movie. The hot tubs don't care about rain.
